Title
Gorgeous Fever, 1994, Chicago, Randolph Street Gallery, multimedia performance, mailer
Description
Randolph Street Gallery produced this mailer for Lynn Book's original multimedia performance “Gorgeous Fever” investigating women’s bodies as a site of madness, magic, and power. Randolph Street Gallery was a renowned alternative exhibition and performance space in Chicago (open from 1979 to 1998). The three-year project had several iterations and multiple collaborators in US cities and also resulted in "Gorgeous Fever: the radio drama,” a stand-alone audio recording. Book showed several original projects and was involved in other projects at Randolph Street, including “Physical Vision” (1989). The Randolph Street Gallery Archive can be accessed through the John M. Flaxman Library Digital Collections at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, where Book taught from 1985-95).
