SongSpot, 2010, Slovenia, ArtStays, sound installation, sound for installation

This audio recording was created by Lynn Book for the multimedia installation and performance project, “SongSpot” for the international festival of contemporary art, ArtStays, Ptuj, Slovenia in 2010. Book was an artist in residence for 2 weeks, developing the project through a set of processes that included: interviewing various people who lived locally, gathering songs from them (mostly folk songs in their native Slovenian language), and environmental sound that the artist recorded on her daily expeditions around the medieval core and along the Drava river. The resulting sound piece that Book edited, was played during the course of the month-long expedition.
